The Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management is designed to strengthen the ability of human resource professionals to perform this strategic role. Admission Requirements
The common regulations for the Masters’ degree in the University of Nairobi shall apply.
b) In addition, the applicant must be a holder of:
- at least an upper second class honours degree in human resource management or equivalent in non-classified degrees.
- lower second class honours degree in human resource management or equivalent in non-classified degrees with at least two (2) years of post qualification work experience.
- any other qualifications accepted by Senate to be equivalent to any of the above.

Exams Regulations
- In each semester, a candidate will be required to take a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of six (6) examination papers inclusive of supplementary examinations.
- A candidate shall be required to take and pass a total of fifteen (15) examination papers before being allowed to proceed to do a Research Project.
- Each course unit shall be examined through a two-hour written examination paper at the end of each semester.
- The final written examination shall account for fifty percent (50%) of the marks in each course unit, while continuous assessment shall account for the remaining fifty percent (50%). A candidate will be required to sit for the final examination in the same semester in which he/she does course work.
- The pass mark for each course unit shall be fifty percent (50%).
- A candidate who fails to satisfy the examiners in any course unit may on the recommendation of the School Board of Examiners and approval by Senate be allowed to take up to two supplementary/repeat examination in the failed unit.
- A pass obtained in the supplementary/repeat examination shall be recorded as 50% in the candidate’s academic record.
- A candidate who fails to satisfy the examiners in the second supplementary/repeat examination shall, subject to the following on recommendation of the School Board of Examiners and approval by Senate, be discontinued.
