Abstract
Procurement involves different firms or a specific firm through procurement department, purchasing services and commodities of the right quality, time, place, and price for user departments. Generally, the study endeavored to uncover the influence of e-procurement on the performance of supply chain of government hospitals in Kiambu County. Specifically, this research endeavored to: ascertain the degree of implementation of e-procurement
amongst government hospitals in Kiambu County, and to uncover the influence of e- procurement on the supply chain performance of government hospitals in Kiambu. A descriptive survey approach was utilized. The outcomes uncovered that the public hospitals implemented the allocation of responsibility, advertising, supplier involvement and sourcing projects per month. In terms of the impact of e- procurement on the productivity quality of the chain, the researcher unearthed that the paperwork is minimal. Furthermore, concerning the influence of e-procurement on dependability of supply chain, it showed that electronic procurement increases productivity. Concerning the impact of e-procurement on timeliness of the chain network, the outcomes demonstrated that it encourages use of technology. The study showed that e-planning practice had highest effect on chain performance of hospitals that are managed by government in Kiambu County. The inquiry commends that public hospitals management should consider implementing e-procurement scheme in their respective firms for the smooth running of the supply chain. Limited time and insufficient funds were the major challenges encountered by the researcher.
